The Beautiful Tropic Reservoir

Looking for something other than hiking Bryce Canyon National Park? Tropic Reservoir is a small beautiful lake set in a ponderosa pine forest atop the Paunsaugunt Plateau. It is approximately 25 minutes from the one and only Best Western Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel. The maximum water depth is 29 ft and average depth is 10 ft. It can be readily fished from shore or small boats. The reservoir is usually stocked with catchable-size (10-inch) rainbow trout, which provide good fishing throughout the summer. The use of the boat ramp is seasonal depending on the water level, usually great for small boats and kayaks. So do you have to fish? Absolutely not, if you decide to bring your ATV’s up they have a few very scenic ATV trails, along with some hiking trails. this is a great place to go for a nice swim, and have a picnic. The scenery is extraordinarily beautiful here and highly recommended. Awesome place for a get away.
